Returning back once again to the German Bundesliga, we return to yet another Corinthian Spirit moment from the German first football league!
-
In December 2013, two promotion rivals of Fürth and SV Sandhausen took on eachother in a promotion nail-biter. With the game tied at 0-0, Fürth midfielder chipped the oppositions' goalkeeper, bundling the ball into the goal to take the lead. But something was strange with Trinks' reaction. Instead of celebrating, the player walked across to the referee to inform him that he had accidentally handled the ball into the goal, requesting for the goal to be taken away. Much to the surprise of the match official, who hadn't seen the incident, the game continued once the situation was explained.
Trinks would eventually score a legitimate goal later in the match, to secure a 3-1 win for the Shamrocks.
